About Stolbek
Stolbek designs and builds turnkey robotic sanding systems and finishing equipment. Based in Ontario, Canada, the company designs, engineers, and assembles robotic sanding systems and finishing equipment for woodworking manufacturers around the world.
But Stolbek didn’t start out as a robotics company, they were a team focused solely on woodworking. After experiencing the same labor and quality challenges other woodworking shops face, owner Brad Cairns set out to build a sanding system that worked the way a cabinet shop needed it to.
From Manual Processes to Better Control
Stolbek knows a thing or two about improving processes. After all, the company was built around solving one of the woodworking industry’s biggest production challenges.
Now, it’s turning that same focus inward.
Like many growing machine builders, Stolbek relied on some manual processes to manage its own manufacturing operations. As Stolbek continues to grow, the company is transitioning from another ERP to Total ETO to bring more of its manufacturing information and processes together in one centralized system. Purchasing information, for example, was shared across different channels, including direct communication and WhatsApp… until now.
Total ETO will give Stolbek a centralized system for managing the information that moves through its manufacturing operation. The company currently tracks offsite work, travel, time & materials, spare parts, warranty, and other goods and services by machine, making project-level visibility particularly important. Thankfully, Total ETO supplies all this data and more, in real time.
